To produce a masterplan for multiple dwellings on a site in Gorton, on the site of an old factory. The land owner specifically asked for high density properties on the site to maximise the available land and return on investment. We achieved this brief by creating a scheme which achieves 48 dwellings per Hectare.
We began by carrying out a site analysis and researching appropriate precedent. We then developed 2 concept options for the Client to appraise. We used the prefabricated house types from Factory.House (a Buju designed product) to develop the schemes and provide 3D images to potential investors. This process speeds up the design stages and improves quality and consistency.
After an initial consultation with the Client we provided 2 concept designs. Buju Architects provided a price for the prefabrication and construction of the timber frame houses, ready for their cladding and internal fit out. The Client went onto sell the site.
